TikTok went dark in the US over the weekend after the Supreme Court upheld a law banning the app, citing national security concerns over its Chinese ownership.

However, the app reappeared a day later with a message thanking Donald Trump for efforts to restore it.

The ban, aimed at preventing China from accessing US user data, had left the app unavailable for download.

Trump announced plans to delay enforcement through an executive order, allowing ByteDance time to negotiate a deal with a US partner.

He proposed a joint venture with 50% US ownership to resolve security concerns.

While TikTok resumed for existing users, its sister apps, like Lemon8 and CapCut, remain unavailable. The uncertainty could boost rival platforms like Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Twitch as users seek alternatives.
