The animated film KPop Demon Hunters, about a fictional girl group who secretly fight supernatural threats, has become Netflix’s most-watched animated movie ever.
Its standout track “Golden”, performed by fictional band HUNTR/X and co-written by Ejae, jumped to #1 on the UK Singles Chart, overtaking Justin Bieber.
This marks the first K-pop track to top the UK charts since PSYโs Gangnam Style in 2012.
Ejae, who also voices Rumi and co-wrote several songs, said the success โfeels like a dreamโ and has brought her unexpected fame, including 100,000 new Instagram followers.
She believes the song resonates because people are craving hope and positivity right now.
