October 16, 2024 โ€” North Korea has accused South Korea of flying drones into Pyongyang and scattering propaganda leaflets, calling it a serious provocation that could lead to “armed conflict or war.”

In response, Kim Jong Un ordered his military to be on high alert, further escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

While South Korea has neither confirmed nor denied the accusations, activists in the South are known for sending materials to the North using balloons.

Following the incident, North Korea destroyed sections of roads connecting the two nations, signaling a sharp refusal to engage diplomatically.

Despite the intensifying rhetoric, experts believe full-scale war is unlikely.

Analysts suggest North Korea is using the incident to strengthen internal support while both sides engage in a tense standoff without wanting to escalate further.
