US President-elect Donald Trump is meeting TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, as the app faces a potential US ban.

A law passed earlier this year requires TikTokโ€™s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to sell the platform or face a ban by January 19. ByteDance denies alleged ties to the Chinese government.

TikTok has appealed to the US Supreme Court for a delay, citing potential harm to users and calling the app a vital platform for free expression.

Trump, who previously supported a ban, now opposes it, partly due to concerns about benefiting Facebook. The decision will be evaluated by the incoming administration after January 20.
